  Finally...a church that has a huge emphasis on the gospel and how much God loves us no matter what, but also teaches the scripture unashamedly. We have been welcomed and loved unconditionally. Encouraged to grow and equipped to be parents and spouses that truly put Christ on display in our lives. Amazing leadership that works together to make decisions and shepherd the flock as Gods word lays out. This church truly cares about Gods children!

  Are you kidding?! I only wish that the Lord would have brought us here sooner. But, I believe everything s in His right timing. We are very thankful to be here now! And can totally appreciate our long and sometimes very rocky journey.

  This church practices spiritual abuse and toxic leadership and is a borderline cult. I am a conservative evangelical Christian and have been involved in ministry for almost 15 years. I attended this church thinking the pastor's connection to John MacArthur would mean it was biblically sound but unfortunately it is far from it. The biblical doctrine is only from the pulpit- how they DO things is quite unbiblical. Pastors openly contradict in private meetings the exact things they were teaching in the pulpit the week before.
  
  Pastors control the romantic relationships of members and have precipitated multiple breakups and divorces. They tried to get me to give them my email, phone, and credit card passwords so they could analyze my life to see if "I'm truly saved." When I refused to comply, they turned my wife against me and encouraged her to divorce me, saying my refusal to follow their instructions meant I wasn't a true Christian. They kicked me out of the church and told her that she should "treat me as a tax collector" by moving out and not associating with me, in order to please God. They threatened to kick my wife out of the church if she went with me to counseling with a licensed MFT instead of with their lay counselors. They refused to perform a friend of mine's wedding because they said his fiancé (who had previously attended FBC, but moved and could no longer attend) was likely not saved because she was going to another church. At one point the senior pastor called the pastor of Murrieta Valley Church when he had just accepted the call to the position there and tried to run him out of town saying that FBC controls Murrieta and he has no right to come there.
  
  This church distorts the gospel. Pastors said in private meetings that people need pastors to analyze their hearts to find sin so the person can repent because if a person dies without having confessed every sin they have they may may go to hell.
  
  If you confront them on being unbiblical they will schedule a meeting with you seemingly to truly work things out, only show up with multiple pastors and intimidate you into silence by screaming at you in front of everyone at the restaurant or coffee shop where you are meeting. In one such meeting Senior Pastor Chris Muller screamed at me that I was a "worthless worm in the eyes of God," making a huge scene at the Starbucks where we were. Pastor Chris is a notorious spiritual abuser and has already caused 2 church splits and been fired from a previous church he planted in Spokane, WA.
  
  On another occasion, while watching a friend of mine get baptized at a location off site, I was physically assaulted by Pastor John Pleasnick because I "was not welcome here." Dude threw me out in the street in the middle of my friend's baptism.
  
  This church has the same spiritually abusive practices that have recently resulted in the resignation of Pastor Mark Driscoll and the dissolution of Mars Hill Church in Seattle, WA. I had headed to FBC thinking it would be a refuge from the abuse my wife and I suffered at Mars Hill, only to experience an even more severe form at FBC.
  
  Head over the Covenant Grace instead! Awesome place with a perfect balance between head and heart. Many of the former great leaders from FBC left due to the issues and eventually found a home here. Pastor Sabo and Erik Cobb are great guys with proven compassion and rad doctrine.
